You don't have to copyright something... You automatically have a copyright the instant you make it. The only thing is that you have to register the copyright to be able to use it in a court of law.

People can still steal your idea/name if you don't have it copyrighted.

No they can't. You don't have to register copyrights, you only have to register them if you wish to use them as evidence in a court of law. BTW, you don't copyright ideas or names, thats patent and trademark. Copyrights are for written, composed, or designed material such as web layout and graphics, music, and written documents.  |

If you copyright something that means no one else can use that without your permission. I researched it and a copyright cost quite a lot of $$$.

Like he said, a copyright only costs money if you want to use it in a legal situation.

If it fits the description of something that can be copyrighted, then yes. This whole layout is copyrighted to me, as are the smileys, and the skin at odbf as well.
